Vanuatu Post celebrates the 35th Years of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between The Peoples Republic of China and The Republic of Vanuatu by issuing an Underwater Post postcard which is targeted for the Chinese visitors into Vanuatu and who can choose to experience Underwater Post Office located at Hideaway Island Resort. Hideaway Island is a Marine Reserve location and has a vibrant marine live and while enjoying the marine environment visitor can snorkel and have the opportunity to post a postcard underwater to friends and families for a unique memorable souvenir. The underwater postcard can be seen wherever it travels through and is prove of one of Vanuatu’s unique icon for visitors world over.


On the 09th December 2017, The Hon. Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Hon. Minister of Infrastructure & Public Utilities and His Excellency Mr. Liu Quan, Ambassador of The Peoples Republic of China to Vanuatu attended the launch function and together they unveil the specially issued Underwater Postcard.

The Hon. Prime Minister encourages Vanuatu Post Ltd to continue supporting tourism activities in its philatelic program. Further, that he hopes there is continuing relations with The Peoples Republic of China government through the Chinese Embassy here in Port Vila in future for similar initiatives which promotes Vanuatu as a tourism destination.”

It was a fun day enjoyed together with a delegation from Beijing China who flew in for the occasion and they also presented a portrait of the Hon. Prime Minister of Vanuatu during the launch at Hideaway as well. Mr Fang Jun led the delegation from China and shared the delighted the were present for the event
